形態特徵

Trees, entirely glabrous; branches and branchlets reddish brown.
Leaves alternate, rather crowded at the ends of the branchlets, oblong or oblanceolate, coriaceous, 4–7 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, apex obtuse or rounded, base acute, margins entire, midrib impressed above, lateral veins indistinct on both surfaces; petioles 5–8 mm long.
Flowers andro-dioecious, axillary, pedicels 1–2 cm long; bracteoles 2, triangular, 2 mm long, persistent; sepals 5, ovate or rounded, 3–4 mm long; petals obovate, 4–4.5 mm long; stamens in male flowers 3-seriate, in perfect flowers 1-seriate, unequal in length; anthers 2 mm long, elongated, basifixed; ovary in male flowers rudimentary, in perfect flowers ovate, glabrous, biloculate, rarely 3-celled; stigma sessile, bifid, segments reflexed; ovules 2 in each cell, pendulous.
Fruits ovate-globose or globose, 1–1.5 cm in diameter.

分布

台灣 : in broad-leaved forest at low and medium altitudes.
世界 : S, SE & SW China, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Indochina, Malaya, the Philippines and Japan.
